About the firm

A firm that exists to collect what businesses are owed.

Singletary & Associates is an Austin commercial law firm with a single organizing purpose: turning unpaid receivables back into cash for the creditors we represent.

Most firms treat collections as a sideline. We built the practice around it.

Singletary & Associates represents businesses, private equity sponsors, and family offices — creditors holding commercial receivables that have gone unpaid, whether the debtor sits in Texas, elsewhere in the United States, or overseas. Our work runs from the first demand letter through negotiated settlement and, where necessary, through judgment and enforcement.

A collection agency can write letters. A law firm can file suit — and we do.

Litigation is the difference

The firm is led by a courtroom litigator with more than thirty years of experience and over 40,000 matters handled. That matters to a debtor: correspondence from Singletary & Associates is not the opening move of an agency with no further recourse. It is the first step of a firm prepared to file and try the case in state or federal court, against businesses and individuals alike.

Experience that reaches the bench

Mike Singletary began his career representing insurance companies in the surety business, earning recognition from members of the Louisiana judiciary and a standing invitation to speak on commercial insurance matters at judicial seminars. Admitted in both Louisiana and Texas, his practice spans collection law, creditors' rights and bankruptcy, commercial transactions, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and civil litigation.

Of counsel to Bangle & Potter

Mr. Singletary has been of counsel to Bangle & Potter, PLLC, an Austin business-law firm, for nearly a decade. The relationship gives our creditor clients access to a full-service commercial and litigation bench when a matter calls for it.

How we are retained

Creditors bring us accounts. We assess the file, the contract, and the debtor, and we pursue recovery on terms defined with the client — direct settlement where it makes sense, litigation where it does not. Funds are remitted to the client or, where agreed, held in the firm's trust account. To place a matter, reach the firm directly at mike@saaplc.com or (512) 593-5118.
